Highlights of the Experience
Granite Skywalk, Castle Rock Hike
Challenge yourself with a hike up to see the massive ancient granite domes of Porongurup National Park. Castle Rock sits on top a 2.2km steep trek up, meandering through tall Karri and Marri forest. The trek up includes viewing Balancing Rock and Karri Lookout where you have the option to rest before we continue on the Skywalk scramble, over and under large granite rocks, and up a 7m vertical ladder to the Granite Skywalk where you are more than rewarded with some of the most amazing views in the south west.
Ironwood Estate Wines
Located in the heart of the ancient Porongurup Range is Ironwood Estate Wines, a north sloping vineyard with a beautiful backdrop central to the Porongurup Twin Peaks. The panoramic picturesque views over the ‘lake’ adjacent to the vineyard to the distant Stirling Range and to the nearby elevated granite and timbered Porongurup Range National Park are the perfect backdrop for guests to sample quality fine wines and enjoy a light lunch.
Tree in the Rock
Wander through the ancient forest of Porongurup National Park and explore a unique natural attraction, the Tree-In-The-Rock. Situated along a short 100 metre trail through Karri and Marri Forest, the sight of a large mature karri tree clinging to its existence on a granite boulder, extending its roots down through a crevice really is something that must be experienced here in the south west.
Stirling Range Lookout
A quick pitstop at the Stirling Range lookout, located at the bottom of the Porongurup Range, provides you with a birds eye view of the magnificent Stirling Range National Park, one of Western Australia's few mountain wildernesses. Spanning sixty five kilometres from east to west, it really is a beautiful sight to witness from afar.
Our next port of call is for quality wine sampling at what is regarded as an outstanding winery by Halliday Wine Companion and has been five star rated since 2013, more recently being awarded 2019 Wine of the Year with their Riesling. With sweeping views of the Porongurup and Stirling Ranges, Duke's offers a million dollar view for you to take in while sampling some of Duke's outstanding Great Southern wines.
As a pioneer of the Great Southern region, Plantagenet’s reputation is celebrated for its rich heritage, expressive wines and family-owned sensibility, making it one of the most trusted wine brands in the country. On this stop, wine lovers will have the chance to sample some of the most highly awarded and sought after wines, both nationally and internationally.
Mount Barker Lookout
Mount Barker (aboriginal name Pwakkenbak) rises to about 147 meters above sea level and is strikingly adorned with the Mount Barker broadcast tower, one of the tallest unsupported structures in the Southern Hemisphere. Step onto the Rotary Club of Mount Barker Lookout and you can take in views forever, a great way for visitors to geographically orientate themselves.

Learn about the unique history of the Sandalwood industry and the trees growth, harvest, distillation and manufacturing process of our locally made Sandalwood products.
